Slab prep day 2

Day 2 involved removing water and mud from area, respreading gravel, finishing vapor barrier, passing city inspection, setting up forms for depressed slab.

Stem wall was cut previously. Expansion joint was used around entire foundation, but not shown in this picture.

Shows at least 6" overlap and 4" tape used to seal joints.

Vapor barrier being installed and expansion joint material in place with stem wall cut.

Vapor barrier in place. 2" depressed slab forms are installed for depressed areas.

Vapor barrier at perimeter and expansion material.

Plumbing detoured under the interior footing and not across the top. Vapor barrier cut out overtop of the interior footings.

Interior footings not covered. Plumbing pipe that had to be placed in the middle of the interior footing remained across and came up in the middle of the footing.

Rebar installed at perimeter of slab.

Vapor barrier in place.

Another pic showing the cut stem wall 4" down from top of slab.

Slab prep day 1

Slab prep day 1 included grades brought back to the right elevation. Termite treatment sprayed, gravel an vapor barrier started.

Gravel going down 4" everywhere (the interior footings sit 2" above surrounding grade so it looks like less than 4" of gravel, but it is not).

Gravel does not overlap interior footings.

Gravel compacted with plate tamp, and hand tamp around plumbing lines.

Well tamped gravel. Interior footings were later cleaned up after the installation of the vapor barrier.

Busy Day with Multiple Trades on Site

Today was a busy and eventful day with many trades working at once. We had the concrete crew, plumber, electrician, and site contractor working.

The concrete crew was able to pour one of the last sections of stem walls in the morning, and then strip the walls and form the font and remaining walls.

The plumber started today, installing a lot of what is required including bathroom 107, and the main 4" line running perpendicular through the building.

The electrician installed conduit in the forms, and added grounding for the font handrails.

The site contractor received RCP and readied the job for additional dirt and his upcoming work.
